I began my CPA career in 1982 following my graduation and passing of the CPA exam. I worked in both public and private accounting from a staff accountant at my first CPA firm, responsible for tax and audit engagements, then a transition from public accounting to private industry with BAR-S Foods Co. I was enticed back to a CPA firm with Slayter and Beckman (now Clifton Gunderson) as a supervisor in the small business area responsible for both tax and audit engagemnents.

 

After returning to private industry as a Controller for Salt River Sand & Rock in 1988, I followed up with an MBA from Arizona State University. I then went onto implementing a successful leasing program as CFO with Commuter Air Technology, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona. After successfully launching international leasing with "CAT," I went back to start my own accounting firm with a concentration in the small to medium sized business area. I started with one client and when I left as managing member of a three principal firm; there were over 300 clients.

I have managed many engagements from implementing a new system to cleaning up an existing system and most important item, is to implement a system to keep the client records organized going forward.

I am a dog person and my hobbies include snow skiing, scuba diving and golf.

 

Enterprise Resource Planninng (ERP) or Accounting Information Systems (AIS)

 

I have worked with a variety of business management and accounting information software applications. These include, but are not limited to Great Plains Dynamics, Great Plains Accounting Software, Real World Accounting Software, Solomon 3 and QuickBooks. I have received certifiaction in the software applications listed above.

 

I have also worked extensively with Yardi Voyager, CYMA and mini-computer specialized software. I may not have worked with your specific software application, but with my background I will become proficient very quickly.
